This page outlines how to edit a player's Network settings.

If you're using BrightSign Cloud, you can update the network settings of players remotely through the BrightSign Author **Network** **Settings**.

If you're using another Publishing Mode and are not connected to BrightSign Cloud, you must write your Setup Files to the local storage of the player either through the Local DWS or by copying the files onto your player.

# Edit with BrightSign Cloud

# Edit Without BrightSign Cloud

There are two ways to change your network settings if you are not connected to BrightSign Cloud. The first is to send them to your player through the Local Diagnostic Web Server (LDWS), the second is by attaching the Setup Files to a presentation and publishing the presentation to your player. These methods are described below.

## Via the LDWS

If you have the LDWS enabled, you can edit Network settings by writing Setup Files to the player over the local network:

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Through **Admin > Setup**, save the Setup Files to a folder on your computer.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Download the [autozip.zip](https://www.brightsignnetwork.com/download/Tools/autozip.zip) file on to your computer and unzip it. Inside you’ll find the *autozip.brs *file.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Copy the *autozip*.*brs* file to the folder containing the Setup File from step 1, so the folder contains the Setup and *autozip.brs*.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Zip the folder and rename it to *autorun.zip*. The Setup File must be located at the root of the autorun.zip file (that is, when you open the autorun.zip file, you should see the Setup File and folders immediately, without having to click through other subfolders).
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Transfer the *autorun.zip* file to the microSD card on the player through the DWS:

- Go to the **microSD **tab.
- Select **Browse **to find and the **Select** the* autorun.zip* file.
- Select **Upload Files** to upload those files to the player's microSD card.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Select the trashcan next to the old *autorun.brs *file to delete it from the microSD card.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to the **CONTROL **tab on the DWS and select **Reboot Player**. When the player reboots, it will unpack the *autorun.zip *file, reconfigure itself, and reboot again.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
The current presentation(s) on the microSD card will be erased, so republish them to the player.

## Via a Presentation

If you can’t use the DWS or BrightSign Cloud, you can send Network files to your player by attaching the Setup File to a presentation and publishing it to a player:

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Follow steps 1-8 above to create an *autorun.zip *file containing the Setup File.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Open BrightSign Author and create a new presentation. The presentation content is not important since it will not be played.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to** Presentation Settings > Support Content **in the right pane, as shown in Image 2.

:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Click the plus icon to add a** Script Plugin** and toggle the carrot to reveal the plugin parameters.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Select the *setup\_plugin.brs* file.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Specify the plugin **Name** as “setup”.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to **Presentation Settings > Files **window and select the plus sign to add a file.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Find and select the *autorun.zip* file.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Publish the presentation.
:::
::::

When the player receives the presentation, it will reboot, unpack the *autorun.zip *file, reconfigure itself, and reboot again. The current presentation(s) on the microSD card will be erased, so you will need to republish them to the player.
