bsn.Mobile App
The bsn.Mobile BrightSign app for Android and iOS devices allows you to send commands to BrightSign players and other compatible network devices over your local network. It allows you to activate UDP events from presentations on your network, modify variables, create new UDP commands, and access the Diagnostic Web Server.
Getting Started
To get bsn.Mobile, which is is compatible with all networked BrightSign players, download it from the Apple Store or from Google Play Store.
When you open the app, it will ask for permission to find the players on your local networks:

If you select Allow, it will attempt to load your players. If nothing appears, select the Refresh icon next to the search bar. This will reload the list of BrightSign players on the local network (you can also manually add players by IP address as long as your mobile device is on the same network as your players).
Players can have the following statuses:
- Online: Players that are currently active on the local network.
- Offline: Players that were previously active on the local network but are currently unresponsive.

Features
Preferences/Languages
The English, Spanish, Portugese, French, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Turkish, Russian languages are supported in the bsn.Mobile app. Go to Settings, and select a language from the dropdown menu, as shown in Image 3, below

Add/Hide Players
Add Players
To manually add a new player, follow the steps below. Note that your mobile device must be connected to the same local network as your BrightSign player.
- Open bsn.Mobile.
- Select the + icon next to the search bar.
- Enter the IP address of the player. If you don’t know the IP address of the player, see Find a Player's IP Address. You also have the option to add a Device Name.
- The app will return the name and IP address of any player matching the IP address you entered. Select Add Player Manually to add it to the app.

Show/Hide
You can hide/show players on the network using the Show hidden players toggle.
The functionality to delete players from the app database has not yet been implemented.
Variables
bsn.Mobile can change the value of User Variables in a player presentation. This is useful to change values like prices, or to change the value of an event depending on the User Variable value. For example, you can configure the presentation to play a different video if the variable equals a certain value (see Conditional Targets for more information).
To access the User Variables on a player, enable the Local Web Server during player setup. If, during setup, you specified a username/password for the Local Web Server, you will need to enter these credentials to access the User Variables page in the app.
The title above a field is the name of the User Variable. The value in the field is the value of the User Variable. To change the User Variable value, enter a new value in the field, then select Set Values.

Actions
UDP events in your presentation that have Show in BrightSign App enabled (it is enabled by default), will appear automatically in the Actions section of bsn.Mobile. UDP events that do not have this checkbox enabled can be sent from the app using the Custom UDP Action function.
Default Actions

This section lists UDP Events that are used in the current presentation. Touch any of the buttons to send that UDP string to the connected player.
It is possible to affect multiple players with a single command. See the UDP Commands with Multiple PlayersUDP Commands with Multiple Players instructions for more details.
Custom Actions

You can add commands in the Custom Actions pane, to add actions that are not exposed in the bsn.Mobile app:
- In the Player Actions tab, select Custom Actions.
- Select Add Custom Action.
- Enter the Label Name and UDP Command to create a key/value pair:
- Label: The name of the action.
- UDP Data: The value will be sent to the player in the form of a UDP packet.
- Select Add Action.
Diagnostics

Select the Diagnostics tab at the bottom of the app to open the Diagnostic Web Server (DWS) to manage and monitor networked players. When you are in the DWS, you can open the hamburger menu at top right, as shown in Image 7, to access different DWS tabs.
See this page to learn more about using the DWS.
Settings
This section allows you to autoscan for players when starting up the app, or to disable that feature.
