brightsign support may ask you to collect a packet capture (pcap) from a player with network issues this gathers all the network traffic to the player and captures it in a file for analysis brightauthor\ connected from the network tab, find the player in the list, and click the settings icon (gear icon) this will take you to the diagnostic web server (dws) go to the diagnostics tab of the dws select network packet capture leave the defaults but adjust the time (in seconds) you want to capture select start capture and then stop capture when you are ready go to the sd tab and download the capture pcap file screenshot 2024 06 17 at 3 51 23 pm png brightauthor classic go to the dws select the diagnostics tab go to the network packet capture section and select network capture while the packet capture is running, you can choose to stop it at any time or refresh status in the window that appears once you've hit the refresh status after the capture is complete, you'll be returned to the previous page where you'll see the capture is stopped go to the sd tab, locate the capture pcap file and click the disk icon to download the file
