this page / section pertains to {{brightauthorconnected}} , our latest app for authoring and managing content and players for the legacy {{brightauthor classic}} app, refer to these links brightauthor classic docid\ av0cxmxbpmvcj7er4quvu , brightauthor classic docid\ d4ccoy1cpixccg5squceu , brightauthor classic docid\ yo5o7hck2ydata03vaahd this page outlines how to edit a player's network settings if you're using bsn cloud, you can update the network settings of players remotely through the brightauthor\ connected network settings if you're using another publishing mode and are not connected to bsn cloud, you must write your setups to the local storage of the player either through the local dws or by copying the files onto your player edit with bsn cloud you can use brightauthor\ connected to edit the network settings of players connected to bsn cloud in brightauthor\ connected, sign in to bsn cloud by selecting connect to bsn cloud and entering your credentials go to the network tab and select the player(s) in the panel on the right, select network settings where you can change various player settings edit without bsn cloud there are two ways to change your network settings if you are not connected to bsn cloud the first is to send them to your player through the local diagnostic web server (ldws), the second is by attaching the setups to a presentation and publishing the presentation to your player these methods are described below via the ldws if you have the ldws enabled, you can edit network settings by writing setups to the player over the local network through admin > setup , save the setups to a folder on your computer download the autozip zip https //www brightsignnetwork com/download/tools/autozip zip file on to your computer and unzip it inside you’ll find the autozip brs file copy the autozip brs file to the folder containing the setup from step 1, so the folder contains the setup and autozip brs zip the folder and rename it to autorun zip the setup must be located at the root of the autorun zip file (that is, when you open the autorun zip file, you should see the setup and folders immediately, without having to click through other subfolders) transfer the autorun zip file to the microsd card on the player through the dws go to the microsd tab select browse to find and the select the autorun zip file select upload files to upload those files to the player's microsd card select the trashcan next to the old autorun brs file to delete it from the microsd card go to the control tab on the dws and select reboot player when the player reboots, it will unpack the autorun zip file, reconfigure itself, and reboot again the current presentation(s) on the microsd card will be erased, so republish them to the player via a presentation if you can’t use the dws or bsn cloud, you can send network files to your player by attaching the setup to a presentation and publishing it to a player follow steps 1 8 above to create an autorun zip file containing the setup open brightauthor\ connected and create a new presentation the presentation content is not important since it will not be played go to presentation settings > support content in the right pane, as shown in image 2 click the plus icon to add a script plugin and toggle the carrot to reveal the plugin parameters select the setup plugin brs file specify the plugin name as “setup” go to presentation settings > files window and select the plus sign to add a file find and select the autorun zip file publish the presentation when the player receives the presentation, it will reboot, unpack the autorun zip file, reconfigure itself, and reboot again the current presentation(s) on the microsd card will be erased, so you will need to republish them to the player
