The XCx55, XDx35, XTx45, XTx44, XTx43, XDx34 and XDx33 models can be installed with an internal SSD device. This page outlines the required and recommended specifications for SSD drives installed in BrightSign players. If SSD drives are formatted using ext4, there is no storage limit. If drives are formatted with exFAT, the storage limit is 2TB. We do not recommend formatting drives with FAT32 due to performance limitations.

# Required Specs

## Connector Type

The **XCx55, XTx45**, **XDx35**, **XTx44**, **XDx34**, **XTx43**, and **XDx33** all have an M-keyed M.2 connector.

## SSD Size

- **XCx55, XTx45**, **XDx35**, **XTx44**, **XDx34:** 2242, 2280
- **XTx43, XDx33**: 2242, 2260, 2280

## Logical Device Interface

- **XCx55**, **XTx45**, **XDx35**, **XTx44**, **XDx34:** NVMe
- **XTx43**, **XDx33**: ATAPI

Because the SSD interface differs between the XTx43/XDx33 and XTx44/XDx34 (ATAPI vs. NVMe), SSD drives intended for the XTx43/XDx33 cannot be transferred to the XTX44/XDx34, and vice-versa.
