Under certain situations, players can be automatically provisioned with a **Default Setup File**. These situations are covered in the next section on [Provisioning](docId\:yAszd9x1YB7Uwun3OxXmP).

The Default Setup File can be customized. In the absence of a customized Default Setup File, one of two BrightSign Default Setup Files will be used as described below.

# Default Setup File (Custom)

The Default Setup File can be customized by renaming an existing Setup File to `Default Setup` with the exact case and spelling as shown. This Setup File will then be used as the default.

# Default Setup File (BrightSign)

If a custom Default Setup File has not been set up, one of two BrightSign Default Setup Files will be used:

- If the player's network *has* an Author Plus subscription, the Default Setup File will include the [Author Plus](docId\:rEScIigY-dJRPuZgwaA4e) Publishing Mode.
- If the player's network *does not have* an Author Plus subscription, the Default Setup File will include the [Local Network](docId\:rEScIigY-dJRPuZgwaA4e) Publishing Mode.
